Message from the Principal
Dear SouthsideParents and Guardians,
Winter has finally arrived! I wanted to take a moment to remind you about the importance of ensuring your child comes to school well-prepared for the colder weather. The safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities, and appropriate winter clothing is essential for outdoor activities during the colder months.
With the new snowfall, we kindly request that you ensure your child is equipped with the following snow clothes:
Warm Jackets and Coats: Please make sure your child wears a water-proof, insulated jacket or coat to protect against the cold temperatures.
Hat and Gloves: Warm headgear and gloves are crucial to keep your child comfortable and protected from the winter chill.
Boots: Waterproof and insulated boots will help keep your child's feet warm and dry.
Snow Pants: If your child enjoys playing in the snow during recess, we recommend sending them with snow pants to stay dry and comfortable.
Snowgear and Clothing Recycling: If you have any snowpants, jackets, gloves, or boots in good condition that your child has outgrown we would love it if you would consider donating them to Southside for students to borrow to go outside during recess. Our stock of extra gear (especially snowpants and waterproof jackets) is getting low. Also, if you have any sizes 7 and 8 sweatpants/leggings and long sleeved t-shirts for for boys and girls, we would love to put it to good use. Donated items can be sent to Kim in the office.
In the spirit of the upcoming holidays, we also want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a joyous and festive season. May this holiday season bring warmth, love, and happiness to your homes.
